L.S. Baker, Jr., PhD, Director
L.S. Baker, Jr., has been part of the Builders of Faith ministry for over a decade (joining in 2010) and currently serves as its director. Outside of this ministry, Dr. Baker is the Associate Director of Andrews University Press on the campus of Andrews University where he has served as the managing editor of the Andrews Study Bible and the Andrews Bible Commentary. He is a research associate with the Institute of Archaeology at Andrews University, a research associate with the Lanier Center for Archaeology at Lipscomb Christian University, and is an epigraphist and artist with the Great Hypostyle Hall project at the Amun temple in the Karnak complex, Egypt. He also is the co-host of Inside the Bible on the Hope Channel. He is married with two daughters, served for two years as a missionary in Micronesia, and is active in his local church and community through a local Pathfinder club.
Research Interests
Dr. Baker's biblical interests lie primarily in topics related to the Exodus, Daniel, and Revelation. Currently, he is working with the Hittite Treaty inscription at Karnak and serves as an co-editor and co-organizer of the Exploring the Composition of the Pentateuch project. He has also been a part of the excavations at Tal Jalul, Jordan (2007–09, 2014–15), Tel Gezer, Israel (2013), Khirbet Safra, Jordan (2018–19).
